Position Description
Bittersweet Farms, a world-renowned leader in serving adults and adolescents with autism located in Whitehouse, Ohio, is seeking a Day Program Janitorial Specialist to assist in developing and implementing vocational and habilitation-based programming in order to prepare participants for future vocational program placement. The position will be responsible to provide skills assessment and enhancement based on each participant’s individual needs. They must work to ensure the health and safety of participants while providing an environment that fosters both growth and development. This position will also need the ability to teach participants about proper usage of all tools and chemicals utilized in the area. The Janitorial Specialist will continue to assist with any and all direct support needs within the organization.The working hours will be 7:30 to 3:30 pm Monday - Friday
Responsibilities Include:
● Demonstrate the appropriate usage of the equipment and cleaning chemicals found within janitorial to both participants and staff
● Assist with preparation and clean-up for special events on Bittersweet property
● Perform a variety of duties related to organizing task schedules, participant task assignments, and prioritizing projects within assigned area
● Maintain inventory records and needs
● Possess understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and handle all equipment and cleaning solutions in janitorial
● Ensure all safety and security requirements are being met in the janitorial area
● Mentoring new staff in the janitorial area on participants and procedures
● Maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward co-workers, staff, participants and outside community
The right candidate must have 2 or more years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities/autism, experience with proper cleaning standards preferred, experience with creating plans and activity schedules preferred, High School Diploma or GED is required, experience with leading groups preferred, and a valid driver’s license with eligibility to be insured.

Pay: $16.00 per HOUR
